After the earthquakes,
the dogs and cats in Venezuela struggle to survive.
Some continue to be trapped under ruins, and just like their owners they have lost everything in seconds.
Sadly, many have lost the families who loved them, and the place they used to call home.
ROLDA is supporting a comprehensive care operation conducted by local organizations for pets impacted by the double earthquakes of magnitudes 7.2 and 7.5 that struck Venezuela on June 24.
We are helping local organizations like La Manada de Bethoven whose team is already on the ground helping animals affected by this tragedy. We have already rushed emergency funding, and it is already being used to get food, water and urgent help to animals caught in this disaster.
But the crisis is far from over.
Every day more frightened dogs and cats are found wandering through devastated communities, injured, hungry and alone. With nowhere safe to go, they depend on local rescuers who refuse to leave them behind. But without urgent support, many animals may never be reached in time.
