Blue Christmas without you
Meet Bonnie and Clyde, the two Santa’s elves. They could not survive the harsh Romania winter, if ROLDA wouldn’t have saved them on time. When saving a puppy, everything is different: the type of food, the medical care, our worries increased until we are absolutely sure they survive the quarantine time (the period between last vaccine and the moment the puppy is ready to be adopted). And during all this time, the puppy needs socialization, because nobody wants a frightened, difficult puppy to adopt. Over 60% of the puppies die because diseases like distemper if they are not vaccinated on time, correctly.
Last year, ROLDA great supporters collected almost 20000 meals for hungry dogs for Christmas time. We couldn’t dream for more. And the hundreds of happy bellies filled with yammy food for the entire period from Christmas until New Year were the proof of the campaign great success.
This year, we repeat the campaign: Warm meals for hungry dogs
The meals collected will feed from Christmas until New Year (10 days) the dogs from ROLDA sanctuaries (650 dogs), the dogs from poor communities in the village and the packs of starving dogs from the industrial site, located nearby our sanctuaries.
1 EUR , or 1 USD = 1 meal for a stray on Christmas day!
Can we repeat last year victory and raise 20000 meals?
Extreme winters are dangerous for homeless dogs, especially for old, skinny, sick ones. When temperatures reach -30C degrees in the night and remain negative during daytime, the dog body needs more energy to stay warm, to functional normally and fight diseases. When the dog has no food (or scraps, rest of bread and garbage) his body starts slowly dying. It’s not the cold weather that kills a dog because like wolves, dogs survive bad weather perfectly with the condition to be well fed and healthy.
Homeless dogs don’t have compassionate owners to spoil them with treats and goodies during Christmas time. They are alone, suffering in silence, abused, unwanted, neglected.
Help us transform a stray’ blue Christmas! We don’t ask for miracles for them, just for some help to enable us to give warm meals to starving dogs during the time of year when everyone celebrate the compassion, the “giving season”.
20000 meals are enough food for 2000 dogs for 10 days which means that during Christmas – New Year period there will be no starving dog in the outskirt of Galati … Can you spare 1 EUR (or as much as you can afford) for the first warm meals served to the most neglected homeless dogs?
