Anti-chaining Campaign
FACTS
The Animals Protection Law nr.205 ("Monitorul Oficial" May 26th 2004) as well as Annexes’ no.1 specify the conditions in which a dog should live in the owner' garden:
Each dog should have a fenced area in the owner' garden where he must have enough place to move around. It is forbidden to chain dogs and those must have assured plenty of water and enough food, as well as the others minimal decent conditions to have a content life.
The reality shows differently: over 65% dogs living in the countryside are kept in chains for life, because it is said that they will protect better the human property, in this way.
Starting May 2004 chaining the dog becomes illegal in Romania, being an abuse against the dog right to move freely.
